Colorado Futuretek Elective Classes

Colorado Futuretek instructors have been teaching elective classes at the Denver School of Science and Technology Green Valley Ranch High School since the Fall of 2012.  Recent elective classes are highlighted below.


INTRO TO COMPUTER NETWORKING

Our Introduction to Computer Networking elective class covers some basic concepts of Internet communication protocols,network addressing, network services, wireless technologies, and security.  The class also touches on troubleshooting of a small stand alone network.  This class provides a great opportunity for students to learn some of the basic building blocks of computer networks for home and small businesses.

C PROGRAMMING WITH MICROCONTROLLERS

Our C programming with microcontrollers class is an introduction to C language programming using PIC16F887 microcontrollers.  Students will be introduced to the MPLAB-X  integrated development environment  and the XC-8 Compiler, which they will use to develop a short program that runs on the microcontroller.  In this class, students will gain an appreciation for some basic concepts of  computer programming.
